If anyone thinks that the "insurance" problem at Hevilift has been over accentuated, just read the latest posts on the 212 accident offshore Dubai. Aerogulf is a company run with a LOT more integrity than HL ever will and they still got it wrong.
If the "management" tried to put it over a client with non IFR helicopter it is very easy to believe they would try to save money by putting it over the crews on insurance.
It would be such a simply thing to resolve. Just have the Insurance Broker produce the Personal Accident cover note copmplete. HL USED to have one.

Bloggs, you said something about checking on who/what the new HL CEO is/was. been in contact with a couple of ex National Jet (australia) crews. This man JS and his family ran this outfit at one time. All one of my contacts would say about him is GOOD LUCK!! He had no qualifications for what his position in Nat Jet and he has even less to be running helicopters. The other said "Be aware that all his smoke and mirrors flim flam are doing is hiding the rapidly moving goal posts".
I was also told that there was a thread on Nat Jet in pprune and it was pretty nasty in the condemnation of JS. Cannot find it.
This CEO will probably type up something himself about the insurance and it will have no validity as proof at all.
One last thing. Bloggs you were wondering what the IFR CP would do about his gaffe. Simple, he "terminated" that longest serving IFR pilot in HL! That will teach anyone to tell him his responsibilities. Now he has no one to explain the PNG CARs to him. The best example was when IFR CP read the CARs to mean 212/412s couldn't land in confined areas
