I think the APU being put off by the PF makes sense as the PNF previously had to confirm with the P1 before putting the APU off after the PF had put the APU Bleed off. Now it is two push buttons which fall quite smoothly in the after start flow of the PF.
The lights at line up are also convenient and allows for look around time and focus on outside while getting onto the R/W for the PF.
Guess change is always difficult to stomach.
