I have worked for a few Australian airlines both long & short haul. I can tell you now that the FAAA can be extremely biased and will lean toward the company. Look what has happened with Qantas.
The talk at Qantas is that the union has been known value the company's interests before the crew's. For many years Qantas cabin crew have wanted to switch unions to the TWU (transport workers union). This takes alot of education and
PR etc within the crew community to make the switch so therefore has never happened. The TWU is known for its assertive & sometimes agressive approach to ensure that the needs and best interests for their members are met. I would strongly advise that the FAAA is not used as they will glad take your membership fees every fortnight but not deliver results...
Anyone like to expand on what the trainees are being asked to vote on??
