agreed, but having met the people who have a considerable political influence and having worked with the same types before, I'd be very suprised if Infratril stay.
Clearly there has been some very hard work done at all levels of the various council authorities, but the self interest and commercial ignorance of a few that prevails there is nothing I haven't encountered in the past.
I have no doubt that if, for example, Toyota or Nissan turned up tommorrow and expressed interest in buidling a car plant on the airport site, they'd do their best to close Manston tommorrow and give away £millions in local tax payers cash to make it happen.
A contact within Infratril tells me that they are seriously considering their position at Manston for very obvious reasons and if they chose to get out it wouldn't cost them a penny and I wouldn't blame them for doing so.
