I've just woken up to a plethora of possible answers that I never would have thought of. This was a much more difficult challenge than I expected it to be.

As Sycamore points out, the distinctive road and canal pattern is very obvious on Google Earth:



It is interesting that this (NW) side of the airport is now the civil side. The present day military section is out of frame to the left on the other side of 21L.
