Tell you how good Alitalia's
PR is (was hopefully).
On board an Alitalia aircraft at Milan one Christmas eve trying to get home. 10 mins after boarding, it began to snow and settle. After 30 mins of this and not one deicing vehicle in sight I knew we were in for an interesting evening.
After one full hour of this they told us to get off and go to the terminal.
Not one person from Alitalia, crew included, informed us of the reason. Ok, any aircrew knew of course and all flights were cancelled.
In the terminal building there were riots, with management doors being broken down etc., all because of no information, or disinformation and the Italian airlines customer services screaming abuse at stranded passengers. Not the other (Easyjet) way round.
I swore I would never travel on Alitalia ever again, by choice. So far I have kept my promise.
