Routes

A company and airline would need to consider very carefully about expanding their Long Haul flying at this present time. The current climate has a great impact on the profitability of a route or even the losses that could potentially be occured on a long haul route due to the rising cost of aviation fuel at this present time.

No company or airline can afford in this day and age to operate a route just because there is a gap in the market place. All airlines need to operate every route at a profit and not just break even to satisfy customers but make profit for its shareholders and stakeholders.

Turbrlent times ahead as we have seen with xl and i am sure that all airlines want to protect their business ans just operating new routes will not achieve this. When fuel prices reduce them is the time to reconsider route expansion to the further afield places.
