Not that it figures very high on my "care factor" scale but I think you will find that Danny sold PPRuNe to American interests late last year. Maybe the annoying ad's are a sign of that "ownership re-alignment".
Being stuck with a crappy dial up
internet connection here in PNG also means the page takes about 5 minutes to load because of all the non-pertinent fluff being loaded onto my 'puter by the website.
I may have to give the above suggestions a try.
