dsatristar - the Council 'backed them to the hilt'??? The Council even charge Peel to run the bus services from the airport, enough to make other airports laugh. At other airports the PTE's or even development agencies fund bus services. Also the Council won't even sign the airport from junction 3 of the M18 thus adding 15 minutes for everyone following the road signs from Sheffield. Thank goodness for satnav.
