It is to be hoped the redundancies at Manston are not comprised of workers who made big lifestyle changes to come to Thanet - selling homes, pulling kids out of school etc. Manston is a suitable place to work if one has no ties and can move on easily, but it is far too dicey a prospect for anyone with big responsibilities.
In a few weeks time the seasonal rise in cargo traffic is to be expected, and the usual bunch will appear on this thread making optimistic predictions as in the last two winters.
Be wary of this.
There are plenty of people with vested interests around Manston who do not care if they issue misleading comments.
If you are looking to work at Manston, do your own research and make sure you have a contigency plan if things go bust.
