New stick of RAM leads to Computer shutdown and black screen.
Hey Peeps,

I've just brought a new RAM module for my Compaq Presario PC. Its 1GB and was my intention to slot it in alongside my 512mb module that came as standard to make 1.5GB of RAM. However, on firing my machine up she'll be fine, stable and faster than she used to be when without warning (varying from 2-10 mins from startup) she'll just shut-down by itself, then re-start only displaying a black screen.


Whats wrong? I dont wanna be stuck with 512mb of RAM anymore!
