I suspect that they probably did at least have talks and I always felt a 3x weekly to Katowice probably would have worked circa 2006/7, but immigrant numbers from those areas are falling and Wizz themselves have been retreating from the UK (downsizing/pulling out of Bournemouth, Coventry, Teeside, Gatwick, Stansted, Belfast).
I would say the only remote prospect of scheduled passenger flights would be with Ryanair, perhaps 3/4 weekly flights to two or three of Dublin/Prestwick/Edinburgh/Alicante/Gerona/Malaga (if the rumoured base ever happens at the latter). But they are also the only FR destinations I believe could work from Manston, and I don't think they will happen.
I believe in 2010 at best there will be a flight to Jersey and a flight to Turkey per week, plus a selection of Newmarket flights. I don't believe there will be anything else, and I'm sure its going to be a very quiet 2009.
