Self fund and get an APS rating £45-50k depending upon unit although more difficult to secure that first job.
Thanks to all for this very useful thread. I am about to jump ship from the mil and have spoken around the regional bazaars. It seem that the self-fund/APS route might be the better way to go judging by the demand. Quite a few SATCOs are having their experienced wallahs poached. It appears that NAT's 'Scurgeing of the Shires' might be changing the landscape a bit and might make an APS job more likely.
