Regarding going to Prestwick, although it takes longer, you might want to consider Rail and Sail with Stena (Belfast-Stranraer-Prestwick). It will probably be cheaper and there are a few crossings per day. Plus, a few hours sitting on a ferry/train reviewing the motivation papers never hurt anyone
