Different noise profiles aren't something ATC in the UK are aware of. I worked there for over 15 years and had never heard anyone ask for a different profile.
Here in Canada it is common practice to notify ATC if you plan to fly the NADP-1 (formerly VNAP-A) as your groundspeed can be much less than if flying the other (more common) profile. In YYZ we mostly use radar separation on departure and this can become an issue if someone flies a NDAP-1/VNAP-A that you weren't expecting since nearly all jet departures from the same runway will initially follow the same route and a catch-up can result.
