Not convinced that we can count that as established fact. There have been reports of skid marks on the runway, but also reports such as this:
Spanair MD-82 struck terrain tail-first: investigators
which implies that
the investigators have said that no marks or debis were found on the runway, and that the aircraft got airborne and then impacted tail-first to the right of the runway. I can't find an official document saying that, but my spanish isn't really up to searching through the CIAIAC website properly, so it might be there.
