What is a good response when asked to describe the role of a first officer?
PPL Student - my answer to this is that the
prime role of the first officer is to
monitor the operation. Also to bring any discrepancies to the attention of the Captain. This role is often formalised within the company SOPS but I think it is a good answer because all the other "stuff" can mask what, in my opinion, is the main reason for having another pilot on board.
