The airfield has not been used for over 60 years now and was built in the mid 1930's on the orders of uninvited 'guests' and initially used as a staging post for return journeys to cities in another country. Local labour was used who to say the least did not receive the minimum wage.
The aircraft shelters visible are reinforced and consequently survived. Since the field fell into disuse local farmers have cultivated the areas around them, as shown here:
