At least that's better than taking off while the turbines are still spooling up.
Things would be much better if they just used the original soundtrack. The people who don't know what a helicopter sounds like or what the operating procedures are won't care or notice, anyway, so why waste time adding effects that only annoy people who know the difference? Same still goes for cars in many movies. Bad editing drives me up the wall.
The only movie that I can think of that's realistic is Apocalypse Now.
