I'm afraid it was unsuccessful...
According to their previous behaviour they only let you know when you are hired. Bad, bad behaviour, but that is way they are. Words mean nothing to them. Former colleagues, which are still with them are constantly reporting that they still promise upgrades, but if you ask for the promise one day:
then they AGAIN promoted somebody else instead (with a local passport)
I personally wouldn"t care so much about that, but I hate to be lied! If they would say right away: "We will never promote you, we always prefer locals!" then there is nobody to blame, but lying and promising hope, destroys working atmosphere and stokes internal envy.
