Probably just the little irish **** going for a reaction or trying to prove a point.
Jet2 operate the Jersey and a few others just to please the airport. I think PM (Jet2 CE) would go ballistic at the airport owners if they let FR in.
LS makes LBA far more money than FR would, just operating a couple of 73's.
However, I don't belive that the local people of Yorkshire are so loyal to Jet2 that they wouldn't switch to Ryanair if the price was right.
