So how come with so many empty seats no one seems to be interested in providing an opportunity to book very last minute standby seats e.g. pitch up at the check in within say 1 hr of dep and get a seat at a price that maybe just covers the fuel plus a small percentage for profit? More profitable than flying the seat empty! No seat then turn around and head for the nearest pub! After all, the equivalent of the population of Australia lives within about an hour of EGLL and EGKK, EGSS, EGXX, and those travellers with no restrictions (cashed up DINKIES) may well take up an offer of a very cheap seat to bugger off somewhere at very short notice. There again perhaps some seats are priced that way already! Just a thought! LCC and Long Haul - same principle applies.
Oz for a week Sir? Thats 300 quid !! Beats the Costa anyday.....well worth it!
