I think that the whole point about next gen aircraft (and Typhoon
-only kidding) is that they have enough SA and decent enough weapons to not need TV. This is doubly true if you have stealth and a LPI radar. Its actually far more useful to be in high block 4 doing M1.6 and then be able to pull 4g than it is to be able to do super-duper turns at the merge.
Of course aircraft requirements are written by ex-fighter pilots who remember the old days and younger ones who enjoy BFM far more than that boring BVR stuff. And looking good at airshows is actually a good selling point.
Just wondering why you can't be stealthy on the egress? Agree about the stand-off weapons, though.
