Lockheed looked hard at the EF DVI for F-22 but the USAF would not fund it.
Nor does the F-22 have a helmet, an IRST, or a decent HOBS missile, and it will be some time before it can share its sensor picture with anything but another F-22, since it lacks a decent datalink.

Could it be that Typhoon, rather being than the expensive white elephant that we've all been told it is, IS in fact on the cutting edge of capability?
And in fact, quite a decent bit of kit.
