Changing to AFPS 05
I heard about the errors on some Personal Benefits Statements, and fortunately Mrs Bitberg7 had filed my original in her filing system (I had left it lying around the house somewhere.) Lo and behold, the calculation they had used to work out my pension at my 38 point on AFPS05 bore no relation to the formula provided in the Pensions brochure - it was about £1500 out. When I wrote to them with this fact, I was sent a new PBS and the option to transfer to AFPS 05, which I immediately took - I'm quite happy with my workload, lifestyle and level of fun at the moment (probably a minority of one), so am planning on staying til 55, and then living at least 30 years to spend all that pension. I know of at least one other pilot who had the same mistake on his PBS, so it is worth hunting around to find your original. Best of luck...
