Whats rubbish about the AA example? David (or three Davids) tried to get a share of the LON-NYC market. Goliath (AA) as a major player in the market did what it needed to protect market share
I can't see Jet 2 (passenger side) going to CVT because they currently seem to be consolidating with a more 'focused flying programme'. Setting up a new base, especially one outside of Jet 2's Northern UK 'heartland' doesn't fit into that.
Sadly CVT's options for replacement airlines seem rather limited if TOM do pull out, and the current climate makes it even harder to attract new airlines and services. Hope it doesn't end up in a Manston situation with freight and the odd passenger flight
