There is more chance of the pope changing his religious views than Aer Lingus descending on Waterford. Does anyone know the real cost and who will be paying for this "multi million euro jet runway"? Hope it's not the taxpayer.
The best Waterford can hope for with a new runway is an operation similar to that of Kerry airport. Perhaps Ryanair will operate a few flights in and out of it on short hops but that's about it. Even in Kerry Ryanair operate a relatively small operation with a handful of routes. They may attract some summer charters as they do in City of Derry and Knock for example but that will be about it. Seems an enormous waste of money if you ask me.
