Aer Lingus at Waterford
Why on earth would Aer Lingus even consider Waterford if the runway was extended... given that when they did Birmingham/Knock on a W pattern it was soon scrapped, and Shannon services to anywhere beyond the UK were scrapped (albeit a long time ago) long before Ryanair opened a base there.
In my opinion if Aer Lingus was wanting to look at any type of operation from the regional airports it should have looked at a twice weekly Knock/JFK route. Flyglobespan did well but sadly were allowed to come in and mess the route up good and proper.
Will be great to see Waterford with a longer runway but sadly that wont be good news for Aer Arann.
I remember when Aer Lingus used to do a daily Dublin flight. What's the journey time to drive or take the train to Dublin these days?
