Hi there, I have just left the Airforce, as I had enough but I also know someone who was in the same situation as you, except that that person was a lone parent. The person was given the option have having distant family look after the kids or having them put into care whilst that person was on DWR. Everyone including our section boss tried to get so called ACOS manning to get someone else. There reply was to
off, your doing it. Did not know the outcome. This is the reality of the Airforces welfare for it's people, at the moment. I hope it changes but I doubt it strongly. Why stay in a service if they are not prepared to see the situation and try to work around it. If you have made up your mind mate, I would do it, there are plenty of jobs out there still. It's a shame the Airforce is doing this kind of thing to it's people. They will have only themselves to blame when everyone has gone. Good luck to you
