Average time away for guys on my unit since Nov 01 has been 6 months in a year.
Worst case for me was 8 months in the sandpit last year.
Thats just ops! Take into account training, exercises and standby commitments and you'll soon find that 'harmony' guidelines have gone out of the window!
Not all doom and gloom though - some of the time away is cracking (when you are not being shot at!)
