I suspect that the suffering that they are most concerned about is their own, if they ever did speak out As ever the only ones with the guts and moral fibre to say it how it is are the Generals. The RAF was born out of expediency and has remained there ever since. The expediency now compromising the very airworthiness of its aircraft. Per Adua indeed!
