Takes about 5mn from the terminal to the FAA building, $4 if U take a cab (all cab drivers know the place anyway).
As for your CPL, I believe U will be issued an FAA CPL on which it will state something like "issued on the basis of UK CPL nr .... & having the same validity period". Dunno about the xfr of an IR. Check the current FARs for that on
www.faa.gov or other aviation websites (eg
www.landings.com).
