Your are partialy correct ....
I have to admit most of the competent and honest instructor will agree to make a copy straight after the sim check and handle to you without any story.
BUt YES there are some BIG AS..... who will refuse it!!
Personnaly i always asked for, as the past has showed that once in the office your sim check report might be "corrected" by some F
people sitting in office for who honesty has never been part of their education!!
