Australian Infrastructure Fund (AIX) will undertake a $60 million expansion of Darwin International Airport following strong growth over a number of years, it says.
AIX said the redevelopment was designed to cater for forecast passenger growth to 2015.
It includes a
65 per cent increase in terminal floor space with an
improved retail precinct, two new aircraft parking bays and extra car parking facilities.
AIX owns 28.2 per cent of Northern Territory Airports, the holding company for airports at Darwin, Alice Springs, and Tennant Creek.
It represents 5.7 per cent of the AIX portfolio.
