I usually switch on a couple of mobiles once on chocks and place them on the extension at the rear of the centre-pedestal. Recently switched both on, put them down, and was amazed to see how the FMS-display adjacent to the phones rapidly blinked on-and-off a number of times as the 'phones came online. Used to think the whole 'switch-off-the-mobiles thing' was a bit overblown, have had a rethink there.
