Given I don't know your specific interest, or airline connections, I'd get yourself into an airline ops room (use mates, aquaintances etc or maybe cold call an ops dept) and see what they do and work out just what job you want to do, i.e. ops co-ordinator, flight planning, crewing etc.
Perhaps you might try for any job in an airline and try to transfer from within, although it would be a smarter move to get an IT job, preferably supporting ops, so that the move is more straightforward.
Are you looking specifically at Australia for jobs? Do you have the right to work here? Try
here for starters. I know Qantas had a job for an IT person in Ops recently..
