Trouble for Boeing, Airbus?
A lot has been written here and elsewhere about difficult times facing airlines, and indeed there have been several airline failures as recession approaches. However, Boeing and Airbus hold large orders from airlines whose futures are being questioned. Will those orders survive, or are Boeing/Airbus in for a challenging time when their customers are unable to take delivery, or pay for the aircraft they had ordered?
When Skybus failed, a fairly substantial order for Airbus evaporated. What are the consequences of this uncomfortable part of the economic cycle for the manufacturers?
Discuss.
