I haven't even flown in a light aircraft yet but...
There is a small parachute airfield in the south lakes called Cark Airfield. Spent many happy hours/days there when we had the caravan next to the airfield
Friendliest people you could ever meet there, they really are. I'd advise a trip up there if possible! Stop off for a bit, have a coffee and a chat

PS - I think it is quite hard to arrange a flight into there due to all the meat bombers, but I'm not sure
