When launching or speculating on an airrame; you do not buy the best product always, in today's market, you 'buy' what is available. 60XR, is not a bad aircraft, but this is not the point. Aviation is not about planes or pilots or passengers; aviation is about cashflow and hedge funds. Anything that maximise the cash flow is good; whereas someone "buys" 500 aircrafts of Gulfstream announces 666 letters of intent for the G650, this is not aviation this is stock exchange.
What can you do best as a manufacturer to try to tease your local market ? Just hit the pride of the locals; lookk they bought so many pieces, what are you doing ? market is booming !! Analysts after a good dinner would say : Yeahh this is good, change the notation and whazzammm the stock rise !

Controversely, annouce a delay because the lower part of the tail plane actuator flutters at Vd+0.06 on a 3 G pull out and the same analysts would change the notation and the stock will plummet.

Examples ? Boeing rolled out the 787, painted but with no systems in it...but roll out on schedule; Airbus announced at early stage delays on the 380...orders cancellation. Dassault launched the 7X with partial functionnality, but never said one word to the operators about it...Neutral effect.

If finance people are happy about ordering 125 LR60XR, let them do it; follow through and count the number of aircrafts that are really going to be delivered.
