I wouldn't think it's an "event" as such, more likely to be a visit, Glasgow ATC (and most units
AFAIK) are very accomodating in trying to having local flight clubs to visit, understand and work together.
The flying school across the corridor from yours organise this kind of visit regularly
From my experience, you'll be shown the visual control room (tower) and the approach room, and probably also get a chance to plug in next to a controller and watch / listen to what they do.
Highly recommended, even better if the flying club make a fly-in out of it (especially if they can negotiate free landings !
