I wear gloves while flying high performance aircraft, For two reasons:. .. .1. If your hands are sweaty ,the gloves will ensure your fingers don't slip off the important. .switch or control you are trying to manipulate. .( probably the one involved in why your hands are suddenly really sweaty <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> ). .. .2. On a more serious note a friend of mine had a short circuit in a large aircraft switch panel( i.e. lots of high voltage stuff ). It and the surrounding part of the instrument panel very quickly became too hot to touch with bare fingers. That was when he started wearing gloves and in the spirit off "you should learn from other peoples experiences" , so did I. I figured it would be a real drag to have a cockpit fire , put it out , and then find you can't fly the airplane because your hands are burnt. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />. . . . <small>[ 17 March 2002, 02:42: Message edited by: big pistons forever ]</small>
