If person A is a 737 FO and earns less than person B who is a SO that will only be the situation for say 5 years. If person B stays a SO for that time and doesn't upgrade, and person A gets an upgrade to Capt, then who will come out in front in the end.
Sounds like one of those Math exam questions at school
