Sorry for the delay in answering your question back on the 28th.
The Pilots/Training Captains generally stated that their recruiting asylum (HR)thought that after 30 yearsof age you are;
1. a training risk
2. something wrong with you because you never got into earlier.
3. too set in your ways and may have problems flying with a captain younger than you.
4. only have 25-30 years of service left in you. Bearing in mind that everyone younger than 30 stays with the airline they started with (sarcastic).
5. Not given any financial incentive by a flight school to take people from thier integrated courses. (OK, number 5 is my own opinion)
Any combination of the above.
These are actual comments ad not paraphrased by me.
Yes, I know its boll@cks, but that is what was told to me.
Although, there are some 'good guys/girls' out there who will understand what you went throgh and will sympathise when you get an interview.
