Shame the Navy Lynx decided to start up just as the sonorous harmonies of the BBMF Merlins were becoming audible and treated us to a noisy rotors-running obbligato for the entire display. Some of us like to hear classic big pistons unaccompanied by the sound of more modern machinery.
Evidently a subtle ploy on the part of the Navy to remind us who really won the Battle of Britain . . .
