I live in Bahrain and it's about 13p per litre. It's all tax in the UK folks.
I don't think aviation fuel is subjected to the same tax levels at all.
There's always dark talk of secret subsidies that the Gulf carriers receive, but hey, it's a rumour site. Check out how close the seat prices are Bahrain to London between BA and Gulf Air (the only two carriers). Always within a gnat's knacker, price-wise. And expensive. Tell me it's a coincidence that happens year in, year out!
