I agree that airlines aren`t doing well, with some doing better than others.
I`ve said before similar to my previous posting before bye bye Maxjet and co.
Silverjet could have pulled in "easy" cash in the better times with a 2 class product, whether the business and economy product or a premium economy and economy product.
The local area, Beds Bucks and Herts and the slightly further out counties (Northants Cambridgeshire, Ox) have local business, as well as London business catchment plus a fairly affluent population which may have readily jumped at weekend in New York at the right price. £999 wasn`t but say £499 you would. Silverjet do have a good promotions department and the customer likes the product. I`m sure they have more fans than BA, however they didn`t get the bums on seat at the right price. Although its not just the number of passengers on a flight but the price they paid too.
Those who ask what will happen? Honestly? No idea but don`t count on any shining knight in silver armour. Its a couple of aging 767-200`s from a North London airport to 2 over served world destinations.
Its not pleasant. I`ve been there. But your live.
