Just got back from interview with EK as F/O. I did raise the issue of DEC, and the guys in the interview panel said that they have stopped hiring DEC, but they will hire a DEC who is a rated instructor or examiner esp. on airbus fleet as the existing examiners/instructors are moving to the A380. I dont know how accurate their info is. They also said that at this time the expected time to promotion on Airbus fleet is four year and some months while for the B777 its about three years and two months.
