Barbox the reason it woul take 7 years to be in a Tiger Moth if I didnt learn in it now is that when I go to university in one year I will struggle to have enough money to eat let alone fly and I will become poverty stricken for my 3 years there. After that it would take about 2 years to find a job and save up enough to start flying. That only adds up to 6 years, so I was wroing but 6 years is still very long. Between now and university next year is the only time ill have enough money to do any flying.
Tiger Moth for 30K! thats great! is it in good condition? Id love to buy it but I`ve only got a fraction of that. Do you think your friend would accept £15 a week?
Solent, you question Cambridge flying groups motives? There motives are to provide great vintage flying at cheap prices which cannot be found anywhere else. Infact they do not even make a profit which is why the Tiger Moths prices are so low compared to the £80 for 15 minutes which can be found at other airfields. Even the instructors are only paid expenses and do it for the love of flying the moth.
Im not sure what their names were but there was one fairly old lady there but she was probably under 65 who may have been Betty. I think she said she couldnt fly anymore due to a bad back caused by a car accident. I think someone else who runs it is called Dave.
