I know one flt lt, real twitter and bistered. He was the first subject of a new sqn ldr. Now this sqn ldr had known the other guy for a good 10 years or more, serving on the same sqn and sometimes the same crew. The sqn ldr was a 'good' bloke (nah), why, on a night on the tiles he had been photographed mooning out of the mini-bus.
The other guy was 'due' for promotion but, IMNSHO, only because he was highly competent at his job and would have been properly rewarded as spec aircrew.
Anyway the 1st RO wrote a very precise and accurate 1369 - probably the only true one that year - and that (I was told) scuppered him for ever.
