You go to the type rating after an air law and a human perf exam then you come back to Doha, I know that QR has got a Cat D Sim which is approved by QCAA for 7 take offs and landings including engine failure, snow and slush and low visibility approaches and landings........... it s called ZFT i think .!.!.!
So the hardest part is when you come back from type rating, you spend appro a month on ground before going onto line, A/C walk around, Fire and Security , Ditching and ETOPS . . . . . and a lot more
when the 124 sectors are achieved, the flying will then be as F/O on line training for about 60 hrs, means flying will be with a type rating instructor and someone qualified in case of an incapacitation, cause the F/O won't be rated yet at that time, unless QR juges that she can remove the releife pilot at some point in the line training, then you might fly with a TRI only.
when released by a TRE, the hardest part comes, you do your job, follow the rules, nothing more and nothing less. Anybody can be replaced just like that in QR.
I am really sorry for the pilots whom got the rejection letter, wish you all best luck.
